Path Integral Ventures was born from two decades of building at the frontier of enterprise infrastructure. Bob Wood spent his career as an operator — scaling Pure Storage from a small team of engineers to over 800 people, driving revenue from zero to $1.5 billion, and helping take the company public on the NYSE. Before that, he earned a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he learned to approach hard problems from first principles rather than convention. After Pure Storage, Bob turned his attention to backing the next generation of founders tackling the hardest problems in enterprise software and AI — and named the fund after the mathematical framework that changed how he saw the world: the idea that the right answer emerges not from a single path, but from considering all of them.

We invest in early-stage enterprise software, AI/ML, developer tools, and cybersecurity — pre-seed through Series A — looking for companies built on genuine technical insight and durable competitive moats. We believe the best investments aren't found by following consensus; they're found by doing the work to understand a problem at its most fundamental level and recognizing the founders who have done the same. We bring an operator's perspective to every investment, and we try to be the kind of partner we would have wanted when we were building.
Bob Wood is the founder and General Partner of Path Integral Ventures. He began his career as a theoretical physicist before transitioning into engineering leadership at some of the most consequential infrastructure companies of the past two decades — including NetApp, Harmonic, and Pure Storage, where he served as Founding VP of Engineering. At Pure Storage he helped build the team, the product, and the culture that took the company from stealth to a successful IPO. Today he applies that same first-principles thinking to early-stage investing, with a portfolio that includes Owner.com, Hex, Skydio, Semgrep, Augment Code, P0 Security, and others. Bob is based in the Los Angeles area.
